Gluten-Free Air-Fryer Onion Rings
Golden onion rings with a crisp gluten-free crumb, sweet onion inside, and no deep fryer oil to dispose of afterward.
Onion rings are usually a restaurant food because they ask for batter, hot oil, and a tolerance for chaos. These keep the drama but lose the vat of oil: a gluten-free flour dredge, egg, and crushed rice cereal or gluten-free panko for crunch.
They come out lighter than the diner version but still have the essential thing: a fragile shell that cracks before you hit the sweet onion underneath. Eat them immediately; onion rings do not believe in waiting.

01
Separate the rings
Pull the onion slices into rings and save the tiny centers for another cook. Pat the rings dry so the coating grips.

02
Set up the dredge
Put flour in one bowl, eggs in another, and crumbs mixed with paprika, garlic powder, and salt in a third.
-
03
Bread carefully
Dip each ring in flour, then egg, then crumbs, pressing lightly. Lay on a tray and mist both sides with cooking spray.

04
Air fry in batches
Cook at 375°F for 8–10 minutes, turning once, until crisp and deeply golden. Serve hot.
