Air-Fryer Loaded Potato Chips

The basket does the useful work here — concentrated heat, browned edges, and less oil than the stovetop version. Keep the pieces even, shake once or twice, and let the last two minutes decide the colour.

Soak slices
Soak potato slices in cold water 20 minutes, then dry very well.

Air fry chips
Toss with oil and salt. Cook at 360°F for 14–18 minutes in batches, shaking often.

Load
Pile chips in an oven-safe dish, top with cheese and bacon, and air fry 2 minutes to melt.

Finish
Add scallions and sour cream.
